Karetto ch 2, more release downloads, and Ueno Month
Well, couple days ago I finally put out Karetto ch 2… after literally a year of time since ch 1. Glad it’s finally done, but I’m gonna try to do better next time. Chapter 3 won’t come during June, but I’m gonna prioritize it starting in July. As I’ve said a couple times in the past, once volume 1 is over, Karetto will be a lot more manageable, and something I’ll likely be able to release interchanged with Ueno releases. The chapters beginning in volume 2 are only about 12 or so pages. Also, another thing that had slipped my […]

Guess I’ve been forgetting to update this blog. Well, Ueno-san has been going well. I don’t think it’s worth at this point creating downloads for any of the interim chapters in volume 6, as I’m looking to finish the volume before March 27th (when volume 7 drops), despite that I’ll likely have to wait some time to actually acquire raws and begin working on the new chapters. I think having some time with no Ueno hanging over my head would be a good thing, because honestly, I’ve desperately wanted more time to work on other projects, namely Karetto. Everything else […]

Remember Karetto? Anyone? Well, after a long wait near the bottom of my priority list, it’s finally resurfaced as my top project. It feels nice to dust it off, especially because it’s already making me laugh again. I don’t know what it is with this manga. I just really enjoy Caret as a character. That being said, progress will be slow. This is the largest single update I’ll have to do for the entire manga at over 50 pages, thanks to the way volume 1 isn’t really broken up into any meaningful chapters. The third and final portion of the […]

After an extended stint in the Graveyard of Airships lab, I’m glad to say chapter 1 of my newest project, Kare to Karetto, is now available. Definitely the largest single undertaking I’ve worked on to date. Without sounding too full of myself, it’s possible I may singlehandedly pull this manga out of relative obscurity. Or maybe no one will like it. You can read the chapter right away on MangaDex (accessible through the Releases page). Additionally, the first trial for downloading releases will be conducted using imgur this time. Album is here. Please feel free to contact me if you […]

As a means of slacking off from actually working, I decided I’d make a post detailing the work that goes into preparing volume 1, chapter 1 of Kare to Karetto. for release. Maybe you’ll find it interesting. Maybe you don’t really care. People seem to enjoy my translation notes, so perhaps other behind-the-scenes type stuff could be enjoyable as well. I’ve never had to do cleaning of this sort before, but it has thankfully become pretty formulaic and easy enough to repeat since I started. It adds on to the time spent working on all of this, sure, but it […]

I just spent hours translating Karetto pages, so I figured I’d cap it off with a little brain-dump here, though it’ll still be some time til the first portion is ready to release. I’m excited, though. The fact that not a single group has touched this manga in something like 8 years is a damn shame, but I hope I can change that. I’ve been having a lot more fun working on this manga than I expected. Something about the comedy in this one clicks with me – it’s a great feeling to piece together enough of the joke to […]

This post is more or less an excuse to establish all of the manga-specific category filters for this blog, but at the same time there’s no harm in talking about each of them for a bit. I’m never one to hold myself back from running my mouth. Ueno-san wa Bukiyou I was working on chapter 35 earlier tonight; it’ll likely go up tomorrow. Many of the recent chapters have been getting easier, both in terms of the translation work and the cleaning/redrawing difficulty. Chapter 35, like many, did not even have any redrawing required. I still can’t believe how lucky […]
