Projects update March 2020

Guess I’ve been forgetting to update this blog.

Well, Ueno-san has been going well. I don’t think it’s worth at this point creating downloads for any of the interim chapters in volume 6, as I’m looking to finish the volume before March 27th (when volume 7 drops), despite that I’ll likely have to wait some time to actually acquire raws and begin working on the new chapters.

I think having some time with no Ueno hanging over my head would be a good thing, because honestly, I’ve desperately wanted more time to work on other projects, namely Karetto. Everything else has been taking a continual backseat to Ueno-san, and I think this year will give me a pretty good opportunity to change that. Even after volume 7 introduces ten new chapters, that’s a pretty small backlog that I can chip through on an alternating release schedule with other projects. My main ambition is to get Karetto going at a good pace by the back half of this year. From what I’ve seen, I really do like that manga.

And I guess An-chan is a thing too. If I recall correctly, it’s actually ending this month, which means that, too, will become a finite backlog. All that I’ll need to do from there is ensure I’m working through it at any pace faster than “not at all.” I’ll probably start by mixing in work on An-chan pages whenever work on Karetto results in slow output.

Finally, there’s Akiyama. Monkey-san (the author) wrote an announcement recently about how they’ve been reaching out to publishers and editors in an attempt to get some kind of publication deal together. Whether that would be a serialization of Akiyama itself or some other project is unclear, but Monkey-san stated that a focus on commercial endeavors would most likely result in fewer free comics posted on twitter and other websites. Which means I don’t think I can expect too much more work on that front (as sad as that is).

All right. I think that’s everything current worth talking about. Only other thing I should bring up is that Ueno-san volume 7 is releasing with another anthology comic, so once it actually drops, I’m planning to buy an extra copy of that and volume 6. I really want to work on the anthologies (they’re pretty short), so I’m going to look at using the spares to make raws.

Aight. Even I can’t run my mouth any more. Peace (´ー`) b
